Meet The Team x ATIKA

Meet The Team was a series that I put together for the ATIKA socials to introduce their followers to their lovely team members. The series included a mini Q&A and shoot, styling the employee in ATIKA pieces that can then be shopped online by the customer.

I put this project together to show who the real people are behind the brand, highlighting their personalities, style and interests. To me, creating a a project like this is important as this sort of content really resonates with your customer. People want to buy from real people, and not faceless brands. It humanises the company and creates brand trust.

Not only that, and more importantly, it makes the team feel uplifted, valued and respected within a company. It creates opportunities for more engagement on socials, especially if the employee shares it on their social media. Getting company culture right is essential, and this can be an effective way of doing just that!

My Q&A and shoot below features Esther, a Stylist, Creative Director and part-time sales team member at ATIKA.

Describe your style in x3 words?

Colourful, eclectic, chakra.

What do you like about vintage?

No matter how old it is, you can style it anyway. Also, the quality of the clothes was so much better back then.

What was your favourite piece from this shoot and why?

The American college style jacket. I felt like a different person ha! Love how Anaïs styled it.

Tell us one of your style icons?

I really like Solange as an artist, her concepts and the way she dresses are beautiful. She's just original, she dresses for herself.

How long have you been styling for?

About two years now!

What made you get into styling?

Myself! When l was a teenager, l loved dressing up and going around London, shopping, travelling and seeing how people dressed. That all really inspired me.

What’s your favourite item we have here at ATIKA and why?

I love the vintage sunglasses. There’s a variety of glasses from the 1950s to early 2000s!

Who would you love to style and why?

Probably Solange, and like I said before, her concepts are beautiful, and so is the way she dresses.

What advice would you give to younger people who want to get into styling?

Don't feel like you need to follow trends. Be authentic to yourself, and trust that whatever it is you truly desire, it will come to you through hard work and resilience.

What’s your favourite piece that you own?

I have this beautiful vintage crochet three-piece. Its proper 70s bohemian style, love it!

What did you learn from being in lockdown?

How important it is to do self-work otherwise you won't really truly be happy.
